We’re excited to announce the opening of Eos & Nyx, the latest addition to our Paseo project in downtown San Jose. As our second tenant to open, Eos & Nyx brings a unique blend of thoughtful design and innovative dining to the neighborhood.
When you see the renderings of a project, you hope reality matches the vision. But let me tell you, Eos & Nyx doesn’t just match the renderings—it exceeds them. In fact, it’s even more breathtaking in person, a testament to the creativity and craftsmanship of its designers and owners.
From the custom carousel bar system spanning the ground floor and mezzanine to the impeccably designed interiors, Eos & Nyx has pulled off a spectacular feat. It’s not just another restaurant and bar—it’s a destination.
Thoughtful Design, Top to Bottom
Designed by Basile Studio, Eos & Nyx transforms its 4,000-square-foot footprint into a dynamic space that adapts seamlessly from day to night.
Key features include:
- A carousel bar system that moves bottles between the ground floor and mezzanine at the touch of a button.
- A mirrored balustrade staircase leading to the mezzanine bar, providing a striking visual centerpiece.
- Natural and artificial greenery that enhances the atmosphere without overwhelming the space.
- Oversized glass doors that open onto the patio, integrating indoor and outdoor spaces.
- Creative details like delivering checks in small planters with bonsai trees.
Whether you’re visiting for brunch or an evening cocktail, the design elevates the overall experience.
A Boost for Downtown
Eos & Nyx is already being recognized as a standout addition to downtown San Jose’s dining scene. Mayor Matt Mahan and Urban Catalyst CEO Erik Hayden highlighted its role in strengthening downtown’s “experience economy” during the ribbon-cutting event.
Located along downtown’s growing “restaurant row,” which connects eateries like Morton’s, Urban Putt, Mezcal, and more, Eos & Nyx builds on the momentum of Paseo’s transformation.
A Team with a Vision
The team behind Eos & Nyx—George Lahlouh, Dan Phan, and Johnny Wang—has been shaping downtown San Jose’s food and drink culture for over a decade. With venues like Paper Plane, Miniboss, and the revamped Still O.G., their track record speaks for itself.
Their commitment to quality and creativity is evident in every detail of Eos & Nyx, from the innovative bar design to the curated dining experience.
Named after the Greek goddess of dawn (Eos) and the god of night (Nyx), this space captures the balance between day and evening dining. With its opening, Eos & Nyx adds to Paseo’s revitalization and strengthens downtown San Jose as a destination.
Our Experience
We attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, 11/15, alongside Mayor Matt Mahan, who highlighted the impact Eos & Nyx will have on San Jose’s “Restaurant Row” along the Paseo de San Antonio.

On Tuesday, 11/19, we joined the grand opening dinner and sampled their amazing menu, including lamb chops, pasta, and a Greek version of beignets.
It was a great experience, and we’re looking forward to returning soon!
Stop by to experience the space for yourself—you won’t be disappointed. Whether for brunch, drinks, or dinner, Eos & Nyx is ready to impress.

Opportunity Zone Disclosures
- Investing in opportunity zones is speculative. Opportunity zones are newly formed entities with no operating history. There is no assurance of investment return, property appreciation, or profits. The ability to resell the fund’s underlying investment properties or businesses is not guaranteed. Investing in opportunity zone funds may involve a higher level of risk than investing in other established real estate offerings.
- Long-term investment. Opportunity zone funds have illiquid underlying investments that may not be easy to sell and the return of capital and realization of gains, if any, from an investment will generally occur only upon the partial or complete disposition or refinancing of such investments.
- Limited secondary market for redemption. Although secondary markets may provide a liquidity option in limited circumstances, the amount you will receive typically is discounted to current valuations.
- Difficult valuation assessment. The portfolio holdings in opportunity zone funds may be difficult to value because financial markets or exchanges do not usually quote or trade the holdings. As such, market prices for most of a fund’s holdings will not be readily available.
- Capital call default consequences. Meeting capital calls to provide managers with the pledged capital is a contractual obligation of each investor. Failure to meet this requirement in a timely manner could elicit significant adverse consequences, including, without limitation, the forfeiture of your interest in the fund.
- Opportunity zone funds may use leverage in connection with certain investments or participate in investments with highly leveraged capital structures. Leverage involves a high degree of financial risk and may increase the exposure of such investments to factors such as rising interest rates, downturns in the economy or deterioration in the condition of the assets underlying such investments.
- Unregistered investment. As with other unregistered investments, the regulatory protections of the Investment Company Act of 1940 are not available with unregistered securities.
- It is possible, due to tax, regulatory, or investment decisions, that a fund, or its investors, are unable realize any tax benefits. You should evaluate the merits of the underlying investment and not solely invest in an opportunity zone fund for any potential tax advantage.
